1. Greater flamingos are known for their tall, slender bodies and long, graceful necks. They have vibrant pink feathers that beautifully contrast against their black-tipped wings. 2. These birds are one of the largest species of flamingos, with adults standing around 1.2 to 1.5 meters tall and weighing up to 3.2 kilograms. 3. Greater flamingos are very sociable birds and often gather in large flocks, sometimes numbering in the thousands. Their group displays, such as synchronized feeding and courtship dances, are very special to behold. 4. Flamingos get their iconic pink color from their diet, which mainly consists of small organisms like shrimp and algae. The pigments in their food, called carotenoids, contribute to their vibrant pink feathers. 5. Greater flamingos are not only elegant but also quite flexible! It's not uncommon to spot them standing on one leg or even tucking their heads under their wings
